Lake Nakuru

Bright pink flamingos crowd the shallow alkaline lake shore, often spilling into one mass of colour. The park also protects endangered rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and tree-climbing lions inside a fenced sanctuary. Acacia woodlands and viewpoints like Baboon Cliff give wide views of the lake and its wildlife.

Aberdares

Lush montane forest and high moorlands framed by mist‑shrouded peaks. Keep an eye out for elephants, black rhino and forest antelopes plus over 250 bird species.

Maasai Mara

Endless rolling savanna punctuated by herds of wildebeest, zebra and lions during the Great Migration. You’ll also spot Maasai cattle herded by local Maasai people alongside acacia‑scattered horizons.

Lamu

Coastal island with narrow winding alleys, donkeys, dhow boats, and preserved Swahili architecture. Peaceful beaches and centuries-old culture make it feel timeless.

Samburu

Dry northern landscape along the Ewaso Nyiro River, home to rare species like Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and oryx. Leopards and elephants are commonly seen near the riverbanks.

Lake Turkana

The world’s largest desert lake with turquoise waters stretching into volcanic rock and lava fields. Remote and otherworldly, it's home to crocodiles, ancient fossils, and dramatic landscapes around Central Island and Sibiloi National Park.

Kigali

Clean, safe capital with a booming food and café scene rooted in local Rwandan ingredients. Hosts the Kigali Genocide Memorial and lively neighborhood markets.

Volcanoes National Park

Misty rainforest on the slopes of five volcanoes, home to endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. Trekking here leads you through bamboo zones, high-altitude moorlands, and thick jungle.

Lake Kivu

Calm fresh‑water lake ringed by green hills and islands. Peaceful beach spots, coffee plantations and boat rides at sunrise and sunset.

Nyungwe Forest

Ancient montane rainforest alive with chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, canopy walks and waterfalls. Rich in orchids, high‑altitude streams and rare birds.

Akagera

Savannah landscape dotted with lakes and rivers, where you can spot elephants, hippos, giraffe, zebra and lions. Game drives follow scenic winding roads through wetlands and forested hills.

Gishwati–Mukura

A restored montane rainforest linking chimpanzees, golden monkeys, and hundreds of bird species. It's one of Rwanda’s newest parks, ideal for quiet hikes through biodiverse forest trails.

Serengeti National Park

Vast plains, savanna and woodlands where the Big Five roam and the Great Migration unfolds in thunderous herds. Predator sightings include lions, leopards and cheetahs throughout the year.

Ngorongoro Crater

A natural amphitheatre teeming with dense wildlife inside its caldera lions, rhinos, buffaloes and elephants. Rich grazing supports huge concentrations of game year‑round.

Mount Kilimanjaro

Africa’s tallest peak rising through rainforest, heath and alpine desert to snow‑capped summit zones. A trek offers dramatic altitude changes and highland views.

Dar es Salaam

Coastal city blending African, Arab, and Indian influences with lively markets, Swahili food, and centuries-old architecture.

Zanzibar

(Stone Town, Nungwi, Kendwa, Paje, etc.): A tropical island with white-sand beaches, coral reefs, and a rich Swahili-Arabic heritage.

Nyerere National Park

One of Africa’s largest protected areas, offering boat safaris, walking safaris, and off-road game drives. Its rivers and lakes are rich in hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife, while elephants and wild dogs roam the woodlands.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Dense, mossy forest cloaking steep hills: world‑class for mountain gorilla tracking and birdwatching. Rugged trails lead to close encounters with habituated gorilla families.

Kasubi Tombs

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and sacred burial ground of Buganda kings, featuring traditional thatched architecture. It's a powerful place to experience Buganda heritage, royal history, and spiritual traditions just outside Kampala.

Queen Elizabeth Park

Mosaic of lakes, wetlands, savanna and forest home to tree‑climbing lions, hippos, elephants and over 600 bird species. Launch cruises on the Kazinga Channel bring hippos and waterbirds to within metres.

Murchison Falls

The Nile forcefully squeezes through a narrow gorge, tumbling into a roaring waterfall surrounded by savanna. Game drives and river safaris reveal elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and crocodiles.

Kampala

Bustling capital with rolling hills, vibrant street markets and historical sites like the Namugongo shrines. Nightlife centers around lively food stalls and cultural venues.

Jinja

Shores of Lake Victoria and the Nile confluence, offering white‑water rafting, kayaking and bungee alongside scenic riverside cafés. A hub for adventure sports and local craft markets.

V&A Waterfront

Busy harbour precinct by the harbour with shops, eateries, a working fishing harbour and boat tours. Historic warehouses house galleries, markets and live entertainment.

Table Mountain

Flat‑topped mountain overlooking the city, accessible via cable car or trails from Kirstenbosch. Panoramic views across Table Bay, highland fynbos and wildlife like dassies.

Robben Island

The former prison where Nelson Mandela was held, now a national museum and symbol of South Africa’s fight for freedom. Guided by former inmates, the tours give a powerful firsthand account of the country's history.

Bo-Kaap
